How to get LinkedIn contacts into HubSpot
There are roughly five ways to do it — manual entry, HubSpot's native LinkedIn features, CSV export and import, automation platforms, and browser capture extensions. Which one fits depends on how many contacts you add per week and whether you live inside LinkedIn or only touch it occasionally.
This guide compares all of them honestly. When you are ready to evaluate SurroundR specifically, see our HubSpot integration page for the full product walkthrough.
Why this matters
The copy-paste tax compounds fast
You messaged prospects this morning. Tonight you will retype every name, title, and company into HubSpot by hand — or you will not, and they are gone by Friday. Tab to Apollo for an email, tab back, paste into HubSpot, repeat. The DM thread that turned into a real conversation lives in LinkedIn; your CRM never saw it.
Leaders feel it differently: the forecast built on a CRM that is two weeks stale, the playbook buried in DMs nobody else can see. SurroundR exists because your tools do not talk — but before you pick a tool, you need to know what paths HubSpot already gives you and where each one breaks down.

Five methods to get LinkedIn data into HubSpot
None of these is universally wrong. The right choice is a function of volume, budget, and how much time your team spends inside LinkedIn versus inside HubSpot.
1. Manual entry
Open the LinkedIn profile, open HubSpot, create a contact, copy name, title, company, LinkedIn URL field by field. Log activities separately if your process requires it.
Good for: a handful of strategic accounts, one-off referrals, or teams with almost no LinkedIn outbound volume. Zero setup, zero new vendors.
Limits: the tax compounds — at ten contacts a day the math stops working, enrichment is a second job, and conversations rarely make it to the timeline. Reps skip logging when they are behind quota.
2. HubSpot's native LinkedIn integration
HubSpot connects to LinkedIn through several separate integrations — not one switch that syncs your network. A LinkedIn Ads connection syncs Lead Gen Form submissions into HubSpot contacts; that path is often confused with the Sales Navigator integration below. Broader LinkedIn settings also cover Company Pages and ad account linking.
LinkedIn Sales Navigator integrates with HubSpot when you hold Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise plus a paid Sales Navigator Advanced license. That connection is a viewing integration: an embedded Sales Navigator panel on Contact and Company records — icebreakers, related leads, and InMail composed from the record — not a bulk import of profiles from LinkedIn.
Good for: teams already on Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise and Sales Navigator Advanced who want Navigator context inside existing HubSpot records without a third-party connector. Marketing teams syncing Lead Gen Forms through the LinkedIn Ads integration get clean inbound paths.
Limits: the Sales Navigator integration does not create HubSpot contacts from LinkedIn profiles, does not sync LinkedIn messages or DMs to the timeline, and does not write LinkedIn profile data into HubSpot properties. Everyday feed prospecting — clicking profiles, connection requests, DMs outside Navigator — needs manual logging or another tool. Enrichment (email, mobile) and deduplication are still on you.
3. CSV export → HubSpot import
Export a list from LinkedIn (where your plan allows), clean columns in a spreadsheet, import via HubSpot Contacts → Import, map fields, and run deduplication on email or LinkedIn URL.
Good for: quarterly list-building sprints, event attendee uploads, or RevOps batching a purchased list that originated on LinkedIn. One import session can create hundreds of records.
Limits: data is stale the moment the file leaves LinkedIn. Dedup against existing HubSpot records is painful when emails are missing. No conversation history. Re-importing the same people creates merge work for admins.
4. Automation tools (Zapier, Make, n8n)
Wire triggers and actions: when a row appears in Google Sheets, when a form submits, when another app fires a webhook — create or update a HubSpot contact. Flexible, but you design and maintain the plumbing.
Good for: ops-minded teams with a stable, repeatable source of LinkedIn-derived data (e.g. a scraper output, a Typeform, a Sales Navigator export on a schedule). Works when LinkedIn is not the live capture surface.
Limits: high setup effort, fragile when LinkedIn or HubSpot field mappings change, task limits on free tiers, and almost no path for in-feed profile capture or DM logging without additional tools upstream.
5. Capture extensions (Chrome tools)
Browser extensions add a capture button on LinkedIn profiles. One click creates or updates a HubSpot contact from the page you are already on — often with enrichment and dedup built in. This is the category SurroundR belongs to: built HubSpot-native rather than as a generic multi-CRM connector. SurroundR's Chrome extension is the HubSpot-native example in this category. See the full 2026 tool roundup.
Good for: reps and AEs who live in the LinkedIn feed and add contacts daily. Low per-contact effort, enrichment on save through a vendor waterfall, and optional conversation sync to the contact timeline.
Limits: each rep installs the extension and completes OAuth individually. Not a replacement for marketing Lead Gen Form flows or enterprise data-vendor contracts — compare Apollo vs SurroundR if you need a full engagement platform, not a LinkedIn workflow layer.

SurroundR walkthrough: profile to HubSpot in one flow
If you add contacts from the LinkedIn feed every day, a capture extension is usually the lowest-friction path. SurroundR is our HubSpot-native answer — install, connect, click. Full depth (permissions, dedup, enrichment vendors) lives on the LinkedIn HubSpot integration page.
Install the Chrome extension
Add SurroundR from the Chrome Web Store — two clicks, then you are back in LinkedIn.
Connect HubSpot with OAuth
Approve read/write access to contacts and companies. No password sharing — standard HubSpot OAuth.
Capture from any LinkedIn profile
One click saves name, title, company, owner, and lifecycle stage to HubSpot. Matches on email, phone, or LinkedIn URL update existing records instead of duplicating.
Enrich on save
Verified email and mobile run through a waterfall of 20+ data vendors and write to standard Contact properties — no separate enrichment tab.
Turn on conversation sync
Enable auto-sync once. LinkedIn DMs and video messages post to the contact timeline without another click.
Free tier includes 100 enrichment credits per month — see pricing for tier details. Step-by-step install and OAuth screenshots are in the getting started guide.
